Teachers

Teri Crilly – Classical Ballet & Character

During her 10 years with Queensland Ballet, Teri was well-respected by her peers and loved by audiences. Highlights of her performing career with Queensland Ballet include lead roles in Cinderella, Coppelia and La Bayadere.

Teri taught as part of the Australian Ballet’s ‘Out There in Schools Program’, designing and delivering dance workshops in Victoria and New South Wales. Teri was also a founding member of QB’s Junior Friends program, where she started to mentor and teach the future stars of the stage.

Extremely passionate about helping and guiding others to achieve their dreams, Teri is now passing on her knowledge to our extension students in Classical Ballet and Character.

Jacob Watton BA (Hons) – Choreography

Jacob is an accomplished Choreographer and performer.  At Redland Dance, Jacob teaches the art of creating dance pieces to our extension students.

Graduating from QUT with a double degree in Dance Performance and Fine Arts, Jacob has performed locally and internationally, as well as creating his own works for stage and film.

 

Bethany Cockburn – Classical Ballet/Redland Youth Ballet

Bethany trained internationally at Canada’s National Ballet School and Houston Ballet Academy, as well as in Australia with Prudence Bowen and at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy.

An experienced performer, Bethany competed at the Prix de Lausanne, won the Supreme Award at the Alana Haines Australasia Awards and was a guest artist in the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet’s production of Sleeping Beauty.

Leané Ungerer – Contemporary

Leané Ungerer is a Brisbane based performer and teaching artist who graduated with Distinction from QUT in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance).

Leané’s professional work includes performances both in Australia and internationally. Highlights include dancing at The Beijing Dance Festival, the World Dance Alliance in Angers France and at the Brisbane Festival, and she was worked alongside many acclaimed choreographers including Graeme Murphy, Janet Vernon, Gavin Webber and Vanessa Mafé.

Jen Miller – Jazz

Since gaining her Advanced Diploma of Theatre from the Australian Dance Performance Institute, Jen has been very busy, performing, teaching and choreographing. As well as performing with Velocity Dance Crew, touring with ABBALIVE and Co-Choreographing arena spectaculars, Jen also found time to create a performing program at King’s Christian College on the Gold Coast, where she was the Director.

Jen has taught at Redland Dance since 2015 and now teaches Jazz for our extension program.

Sue-Ann Barry – Tap

Sue-Ann has over 36 years of teaching experience, with a Diploma in Secondary Teaching (Drama and Home Economics) from QUT, Full Teaching Diplomas in C.S.T.D. Tap and Theatrical, and Russian Method Classical and Ethnic.

Sue-Ann established her own dance school in Cleveland, Brisbane and was the Principal of the Brisbane Bolshoi Academy for 20 years.

She spent the last decade developing Coredance, an adult dance fitness program. As the principal of Bayside Adult Dance she inspired mature ladies to live life to it’s fullest and continues to teach her Coredance program at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.
