Leané Ungerer – Contemporary/Classical Ballet
Born in South Africa, Leané continued her dance studies in Brisbane at the Australian Dance Performance Institute and Queensland University of Technology. She proudly graduated from a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance) degree with Distinction and was invited to be a Golden Key member. Golden Key is the world’s largest collegiate honor society – membership into the Society is by invitation only and applies to top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements.
Leané enjoyed performing contemporary works both nationally and internationally, before turning her focus to teaching. Aside from teaching for Queensland Ballet in their adult and education programs, Leané also works on a collaborative project between Yeronga State High School and Griffith University to research how dance can be used to help children learn, retain and understand Mathematical problem solving better.
With a passion for developing children of all ages, Leané is a Regional Manager for Kinderballet in QLD. We are delighted that Leané shares her passion for dance with students of all ages at Redland Dance.
