Rebecca Clarke Dip RBS – Director. Pilates/Classical Ballet/Xtend Barre/Kinderballet

Born in the U.K., Rebecca’s love of dance led her to full-time training at Elmhurst Ballet School at the age of 11. At 16, she went on to further her training at the prestigious Royal Ballet School where she was privileged to work with the Royal Ballet Company during her studies.

Upon graduation, Rebecca enjoyed a varied professional dance career. In both the U.K. and internationally Rebecca performed as a dancer in theatre, cabaret, T.V. shows and trade shows: Royal Caribbean Cruises, Crystal Cruise Lines, Cabaret de Monte Carlo, Lido de Paris and Disney, to name a few.

Rebecca was delighted to join the original cast of the musical Saturday Night Fever in London’s West End. It was during this time that an injury lead her back to Pilates, something she had undertaken as part of her training at the Royal Ballet School. Under the watchful eye of distinguished Pilates teacher Alan Herdman, Rebecca undertook a one year full time Pilates teacher training course.  This highly regarded certificate enabled her to teach Pilates at studios across London including The Harbour Club in Chelsea and Lesley Ackland’s Body Maintenance Studio, then situated in London’s Pineapple Dance Studios.

Since arriving in Brisbane, Rebecca joined a team of physiotherapists, Pilates instructors and other complimentary health professionals at The Body Refinery, in New Farm and Teneriffe. Having taught Pilates since 2003, Rebecca has a keen interest in remedial Pilates, Pilates for the dancer’s body and, being a Mum herself, Pilates for pre and post-natal women.
